Master of the Masters!!!

Ok so the blog has been neglected for the last while but I have an excuse!!!…

I think…

Well basically the M.Sc is finished and now the hunt for a PhD or a Job will begin!

Where do we go?.. who will take us?…

These are typical questions of a graduate from any institution nowadays… But what are the options? If you dont already know then allow me to explain. In ireland at present there is a severe lack of job growth which is understandable in a time of such recession or Depression! Basically in order to secure a job that is advertised in industry in Ireland you are “Required” to have a minimum of 3 years experience.

How does this work???? so any entry level graduate is automatically eliminated from the application process because of there distinct lack of previous experience.

SO in order for the country to grow they are simply preventing the introduction of younger work force and hence restricting their own options for the future when they require a constant stream of employees. This does not make sense to me!! and I am pretty sure I am not alone on this one!

tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

St Maartens Island, just to watch the airplanes fly so close over head

This week in the Dáil creche

Ok so PiggyGate as it has been coined on twitter has finally died down (Thank god) it was quite funny how much the TD in question could actually drag it out. Apparently on the Ray D’Arcy show on TodayFm she was quoted as the matter has been resolved and Mr Mick Wallace had apologised. So when she said rectified and there was no need to discuss it further did she mean for the Ray D’Arcy show or media in general because it was then covered and the tale regaled on countless number of afternoon and  evening talk & current affair shows and to top it off on the front page of all the tabloids and the broadsheets that evening and the next day. I think “GET OVER IT”, in all fairness Mick Wallace is no Prince charming either and im pretty sure if you kiss him he won’t get any better looking! But it is great to see that the everything can come to a stand still because someone called someone else a mean name. two words for the whole affair “JESUS CHRIST”

Political Polygamy

SO!… this is the first of my Political rants that shall be posted on Tumblr and spread through Twitter and Facebook. For this I can only apologize.

In Ireland we are in the deepest darkest corner of the recession and are not remotely near the light at the end of the tunnel. Taking this fact into consideration it would be expected that the aim and the focus of a political party at the present moment would be to try to correct the previous parties wrong doings and try to spur growth in order to try to achieve the outlandish agreement made with Fianna Fáil and the EU during the “negotiations” of the Bailout. I use inverted commas because I truly believe there was no such negotiations and currently believe Fianna Gáel are not in “Negotiations”, they simply jump to the sound of Brussels beat. Anyway apart from the filtered news of the ongoings (criminal, I may add) of The News of the World, currently there is a closure of an emergency department in County Roscommon (http://tinyurl.com/6eft68r). This closure is brought about by HIQA an agency that is setup to review standards of hospitals and determine corrective action or closure in the most extreme of cases. I assume in this case then it was extreme but I am puzzled as to why Drogheda (Lady of Lourdes) Hospital has not been closed yet too (is that a trains light I see before me).

What is truly stunning about this is that our voted leader had promised to fight tooth and nail once in power not to close units like Roscommon, but now has backed down and claimed simply that “WEll, ehhh HIQA said….”, what happened to the powerful red faced braveheart style of fighting to the end Mr Kenny displayed during the Obama-rama rally on College green not so long ago, what happened to the “Is Feider Linn” (Yes we can) attitude that was displayed to the millions of Irish home and abroad viewing him at his finest hour?….

I am by no means an expert but if the hospital was so bad why could he not encourage people to take pride in their occupation and to strive to change the hospital to a fully functioning example for other old and dilapidated hospitals to aim to be. Instead he simply backed out and used HIQA as a smoke screen, aahhhh yes avoid the spot light. As Mr Varadkar had done a couple of months previous. As the saying goes KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

I voted for you and I make one simple request, STAND UP & DO SOMETHING, no interviews, no bill passing, plain simple work and demonstrate to us that you are struggling but are trying because to most of the public out there… YOUR NOT!!!

Ok by this stage oh must be thinking “Will he ever just find a topic and stick to it!…”
My answer is NO, it’s incredibly hard to actually find a niche or angle to things that has not already been done so feck it!

What’s in store for the coming week, well the next podcast is to be recorded and posted and I have to make a dent on this thesis of mine, focus hard all week and try to get some groundbreaking scientific results however failing that gathering some nice targets and comparing them to a validate study should be a nice little result too!
